Brushing the dust off.

Wow, has it been almost a year since I posted here? That's a shame.

I've debated moving over to another blogging site to at least start uploading art thataway, but I think I'll keep to this blog, mainly because I kind of missed it (a little twinge of nostalgia), but also because now I'm using this for me.

Not just for Design For Media, but for me. c:

And as such, I'm gonna upload a piece that I've done for myself, just to get the ball rolling.

From this point on, I promise I won't be as verbose in my posting as I am right now, but it's been almost a year since I did anything on here, I need to start doing some catch up work!

Some more favored pieces from my Commercial Figure Drawing last semester (I'll upload some gestures from it, as well as some new gestures since I'm not really in any life-drawing classes this semester, I need to keep on top of it!)

And then finally some character design work for my Animation 2 class THIS semester.

These next few updates will be a smattering of old and new works, but I promise you less talking, only just to date the pieces.

Also, I'm going to be posting some 'art challenge' pieces of sorts, at least random prompts I have saved around the computer. I need to get practicing, after all!

For those still around here, thank you for sticking around. :)

CD Covers

Well, rolling into Winter Break, I actually had a bit of a job from middle of the semester on until this point (and I'm now able to actually focus on it). My dad is part of a big band and they are recording their first CD, so they asked me to design a CD cover. It started off with just wanting black, white, and blue, a rough drawn look, and stick figures.

These were the two original roughs, but we weren't very specific on details.

Then I finally found out the title of the album, and began to try to incorperate all of the above.

I have had good feedback for the last cover, so that will be the one I clean up and try to refine for the CD cover (which is due in a few weeks). They like keeping to the stick figure imagery, but definitely tidy up the instruments, the words, and maybe make the lines a bit cleaner on the people.

This is rather exciting, really. I'm not big on doing design work, but worth a try.

Final Animatic: The Aimless

Here it is, amidst working on other finals, I managed to get this one done as well! :)

One day, there could possibly be music and sound to it. One day.

Animatic Difficulties

Good news! I got my animatic rough finished so that I took the panels of my storyboard and was able to thread it together for a cohesive (if a bit static) animatic. Huzzah for Premiere trials.

Bad news… I can't upload the animatic due to file size issues.

This will hopefully be something I can avoid in the future, but in the meantime the blog will have to suffice with screenshots showing I actually did the work.

Animation Final - Rough Skellies done.

Tomorrow I should have the roughs completely finished and then I can focus on clean up and coloring for the rest of the week.

Maybe.

I still haven't added in the final background, I should get that finished.

Final page of Storyboarding

Here we go, the final (current) page of The Aimless.

I'm still debating leaving the ending as a cliffhanger or maybe showing if the little guy made it through or not.

My cleaned up storyboards will prooobably have smoother look to it and possibly more frames.
Easier to convert between storyboard to animatic that way. :)

The First of Storyboards

Well, it was planned to have my rough storyboards finished by the end of break, I figured I should show some progress of this, even though currently it's not finished YET.

Probably another page or two of storyboards until it's over, this story moves relatively fast.
